Foundation to Scent Detection

Marvel Dog Training Academy’s Foundation Scent Detection class introduces the concept of the game. This class will build on your dog’s natural ability to hunt for toys or food rewards all while helping build confidence. In this class we will work on building foundations. 

Fearful dogs will also enjoy this class as dogs work individually so they will not meet or see one another. 

Class Requirements:

• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Intro to Odor

$265 + GST (six week class)

Scent Detection Advanced

$265 + GST (six week class)

Challenge your dog’s nose and elevate your scent detection skills in Marvel Dog Training Academy’s Advanced class. Designed for experienced teams, this class delves deeper into the world of scent work, exploring complex scenarios and off-leash techniques. Expand your dog’s odor discrimination and refine your handling abilities.

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Intro to Scent Detection
• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Scent Detection Advanced Skills

$265 + GST (six week class)

Marvel Dog Training Academy’s Advanced Skills Scent Detection class is designed to polish, refine, and build upon the skills that you already possess. Besides introducing a new target odour, each week we will dive deeper into the ever so challenging skills of thresholds, distractors, converging odours and more. 

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Scent Detection Advance or have instructor permission to join
• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Intro to Vehicles and Exterior

$265 + GST (six week class)

Marvel Dog Training Academy’s Intro to Vehicles and Exterior class will focus on introducing vehicles to your dog. They will be taught through fun games to search and stick to vehicles. 

You will also learn how to navigate exterior searches, which can be challenging to many dogs and people. Through skill building activities, we will build a strong foundation and confidence for successful outdoor searches.

• Dog and handler must have completed Scent Detection Advance or have instructor permission to join
• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Scent Challenges

$265 + GST (six week class)

This class challenges your dog’s problem-solving skills with three exciting exercises. Master the art of container searching by exploring various hiding places beyond boxes. 

Conquer the skies with aerial scent detection, teaching your dog to locate odors at different heights. Finally, unravel complex scent puzzles in our indoor challenge, sharpening your dog’s focus and determination.

• Dogs need to understand odour and have worked with distractors
• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Scent Challenges – Single Sessions

$45 + GST (single session)

This class will be divided up into three different challenges. You and your dog will get a better understanding on how to create a search pattern with containers while not just using boxes. 

Aerial will teach your dog to find odour at different heights while suspended in the air. Lastly, your dogs will have a fun time working through more complex odour pictures within different interior rooms.

Class Requirements:

• Dogs must be able to work around distractions, other dogs and handlers.
• Dogs must be able to be crated in between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Intro to C-WAGS Trials

$265 + GST (six week class)

Get ready to conquer the C-WAGS scent detection trials! Our 6-week program provides comprehensive training to prepare you and your dog for success.

Learn the intricacies of each C-WAGS level, from Ranger to advanced searches. Master the art of odor discrimination using Birch, Anise, Cypress, and Clove. Gain invaluable experience navigating various search areas and build the confidence to excel in competition.
