Agility Core Classes

Intro to Agility

$250 + GST (six week class)

This class is focused on teaching your dog the proper foundation to be successful in the sport of Agility. Relationship building through games and interactive play will be a large portion of this class. 

Dogs will learn the skills to handle a busy and exciting class environment. An introduction to agility foundations will be taught such as; flatwork (following the handler), tight turns, targeting and body awareness. Teams will be introduced to the Table, Tunnel, and Teeter.

This class is ideal for both people and dogs that are new to the sport of agility. This class will cover all your foundations’ skills to have a successful and easier time transitioning to higher level agility classes.

Class Requirements:

• If you or your dog have never attended an agility class, you must start in the Intro To Agility class.
• This class is safe for puppies as young as 12 weeks
• Current set of vaccines 

Agility Grade 1

$235 + GST (six week class)

In our Grade One class, we’ll take your and your dog’s agility skills to the next level. Building on the foundation from Intro to Agility, you’ll master the Tire and Jump, refine your contact work, and tackle exciting new challenges like front crosses and independent tunnels. 

Get ready for faster speeds, sharper turns, and more complex sequences as you and your dog become a dynamic agility team.

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Intro To Agility or have instructor approval
• This class is intended for dogs at least 7 months of age and who have basic obedience skills​
• Dogs must be crated between turns
• Current set of vaccines 

Agility Grade 2

$235 + GST (six week class)

In Marvel Dog Training Academy’s Grade Two Agility Class, your dog will conquer new challenges and build essential agility skills. We’ll introduce the Dog Walk and A-frame, focusing on confidence and precise contact work. 

Teeter training continues, with a gradual increase in height to build your dog’s trust. Exciting obstacle combinations, including front crosses, 180s, and pinwheels, will be incorporated into short sequences to enhance your dog’s agility skills.

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Agility Grade one or have instructor approval
• This class is intended for dogs at least 10 months of age
• Dogs must be crated between turns
• Current set of vaccines 

Agility Grade 3

$235 + GST (six week class)

Furthering your skill set of jump patterns, jump skills, and Front crosses from Agility Grade two.  Contacts (A-frame, Dog walk, Teeter) will be proofed while adding more height and challenges. In addition, Rear Crosses, Blind Crosses and Serpentine handling techniques will be taught.

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Grade two or have instructor approval
• This class is intended for dogs over 12 months of age
• Dogs must be proficient on all of the contact equipment. (Teeter, A-frame, Dog walk)
• Dogs must be crated between turns
• Current set of vaccines

Agility Grade 4

$235 + GST (six week class)

Our Grade Four agility class combines focused skill development with full course runs to build speed, confidence, and teamwork. Whether you dream of competition or simply want to have fun, we’ll prepare you to tackle Starter or Novice level courses with ease. 

Learn advanced handling techniques like backsides and threadles while refining your dog’s agility instincts.

Class Requirements:

• Dog and handler must have completed Agility Grade three or have instructor approval
• This class is intended for dogs over 12 months of age
• Dogs must be proficient on all of the contact equipment. (Teeter, A-frame, Dog walk)
• Courses will incorporate 6 weaves
• Dogs must be crated between turns
• Current set of vaccines
